Exactly! - “All things work for the Glory of God”!
It’s foolish to think that God would overlook using our physical attributes to attract the partner he wants for us. You don’t see a girl across the room and think “wow, I bet her personality is fantastic and she has strong family values” - it’s idealistic, but it’s just not reality.
Noticing someone’s physical attributes is ok! It’s the intent behind it that can be sinful and therefore create an unsavory foundation for a relationship. But thinking purely “wow, that girl is beautiful” and nothing else; there is nothing wrong with that. God knows us inside and out, obviously he has set aside partners for us that will be fulfilling to all our many intricate personal facets.
It all truly comes down to this: if your eyes are settled on Christ your actions and intentions will follow suit.
Anyways, thanks for your messages. I hope Mark doesn’t think we’re picking on him, I just really think clarification of his point was important and I think you concur.
