I live in minneapolis, by way of Brooklyn (park slope - holler), by way of Anchorage. I have more feelings for my cat than any human being should have for an 12 pound ball of fur named "butters". I am a 7th Day Adventist Christian - I recently re-commited myself to God and I try to live my life to glorify my blessed Savior, Jesus Christ. I am also a singer-songwriter, general music lover, a vegetarian (moving closer to veganism each day), bookworm, and am going back to school with intent of getting my Doctorate in Experimental Psychology, to develop, and bring to the forefront of treatment, non-pharmacuetical options for children (and adults alike) who have ADD/ADHD and Autism.

My posts generally lie within the realms of music, psychology, philosophy, vegetarianism, weight loss, creativity, science, history, economics, art, fashion, introversion, health, humor, intellectual discovery, faith, and the exposing of truths concerning the world we live in.

Essentially this is a variety blog, peppered with many many pictures of beautiful libraries.

OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH

I found a picture in my tagged photos on facebook of me at my highest weight. I am in DISBELIEF. Next to it are two pictures of me I took a few minutes ago. I’m bloated today but still. Wow. Sometimes my weight loss doesn’t feel real but when I see it like this it’s amazing. (Click the first photo to see it in full size)

I’ve been starting to falter on my spiritual track as of late…

Sleeping in on Sabbath, not carrying my Bible with me, not reading my Bible in my free time, letting myself be ruled by anger, foolish desires, and worldly pleasures. But tonight that still small voice said to me - “Pick up your Bible” - which was laying on the end of my bed being overshadowed by my computer on which I was about to watch an episode of Project Runway, curl up in my jammys, and eat a lime popsicle. Thankyouverymuch. I picked it up, honestly a little reluctantly, and remaining distracted I flipped through Isaiah but wasn’t really becoming engaged. So, I then decided to turn and read one more verse before I put it down. I did a completely randomized flip of pages and then just settled my eyes upon one passage - I’d like to share the few sentences I set my eyes on. (As a note: I personally only own and read KJV but I liked the interpretation of the NIV in this instance. The integrity of this particular passage, and it’s meaning, has not been altered by the NIV translations so I used it because I just happen to enjoy how it sounds.)

⁷ You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? ⁸That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. ⁹ “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.” ¹⁰ I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty.

Galatians 5 : 7-10

If that isn’t clear as crystal - I don’t know what is. I need to remember I am lucky. Every hair on my head has been counted, and I have been called by name. My life needs to be a celebration of my servitude of the Alpha, the Omega, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. Thank you, Jesus.
